-Serpientes y escaleras mexicano – Es una versión del clásico juego de serpientes y escaleras, pero con ilustraciones y diseños típicos de la cultura mexicana….

  1. Traditional GAMES (Juegos Tradicionales Mexicanos): Since I am Mexican I will share some traditional games from Mexico: La gallinita ciega, lobo lobo estas ahi, ponle la cola al burro.
  2. Basta! or la loteria. There are many new variations of loteria now available at stores like COSTCO.
  3. Spanish board games:

-Serpientes y escaleras mexicano – Es una versión del clásico juego de serpientes y escaleras, pero con ilustraciones y diseños típicos de la cultura mexicana.

-Retoñitos – Un juego antiguo que consiste en emparejar cartas con imágenes similares, usado para enseñar palabras en náhuatl y español.

-El Pirinola (o Toma Todo) – Un pequeño trompo de seis caras con instrucciones como “Toma todo”, “Pon 1” o “Toma 2”. Se juega apostando fichas o monedas.

-Balero, trompo y yoyo – Aunque son más bien juegos de destreza, muchas veces se juegan en grupos con reglas establecidas, convirtiéndolos en juegos de mesa informales.

Juegos de Mesa Modernos con Temas Mexicanos:

-Mexican Train (Dominó Mexicano) – Una versión del dominó tradicional donde los jugadores forman “trenes” con sus fichas.

-¡Órale! – Un juego de cartas con expresiones y modismos mexicanos que desafía a los jugadores a usarlas correctamente.

-Taco, Gato, Cabra, Queso, Pizza (versión mexicana) – Un juego de rapidez y memoria con palabras e ilustraciones temáticas mexicanas.

-México Trivia – Un juego de preguntas y respuestas sobre historia, cultura, gastronomía y geografía mexicana.

-Metrobús CDMX – Un juego basado en las rutas del Metrobús de la Ciudad de México, donde los jugadores deben moverse estratégicamente por la ciudad.

4. Virtual tours or Virtual Field trips of Spanish-speaking cities or famous sites. Use Google Earth to explore places like Machu Picchu, Barcelona, or Buenos Aires and discuss what you would do there.

5. Spanish music listening sessions or dance lessons (flamenco, salsa, etc.)

6. Field trips to local Hispanic restaurants, museums, or cultural centers. Talk to local restaurants about taking your students and find out if they offer workshops or if they are willing to provide a small discount or a speaking opportunity for them to attend their establishment.

7. Spanish book club or poetry readings. There are so many great Latino artists that deserve to be discovered! Introduce a new book every month or every other month in order to expose students to these Latino artists. Make sure to include a variety of levels.

8. Creating a Spanish language newsletter or blog.

9. Watch the news together then have a conversation about what was watched. Perhaps students can have a debate about opinions and facts that were stated and shared throughout the conversation.

10. Watch movies, short films, short clips, and documentaries. This is a great time to introduce media that you typically don’t have the time to do so on the regular basis.

11. Role play- Students pretend they are ordering, students pretend they are podcast host or travel agents. Students pretend they are hosting LOS LATIN GRAMMY, or creating a documentary of their home town.

13. “Karaoke en Español” – Sing along to popular Spanish songs like “Vivir Mi Vida” (Marc Anthony) or “Bailando” (Enrique Iglesias).

14. “Silent Speed Dating” – A rapid Q&A game where members have to communicate in Spanish within a time limit.

15. “Tongue Twister Battle” – Challenge members to say trabalenguas like Tres tristes tigres tragan trigo en un trigal.

16. One-Word Challenge” – Pick a Spanish word and challenge members to use it in as many creative sentences as possible.

17. “Teach Spanish to Younger Kids” – Club members prepare a mini-lesson for elementary students.

18. “Latino Heritage Night” – Organize a cultural event with performances, food, and exhibits.

19. Visit Exhibits or Plays that are by Latinos or in Spanish.
