Sometimes there is great material to be watched but we just haven’t discovered it yet! Here is a list of my favorite items this year.

I decided to compile all of my Tarahumara Films into a Bundle. As I have shared before my family hails from the Sierra Madre and I love to teach about LOS RARAMURIS anytime I can.

There is a Great Documentary that John Leguizamo did for PBS. He is currently releasing episodes each week. Here is a guide to help you!

Great Movies that many people don’t know about:

Where the Tracks End- This movie is on Netflix and it takes place in rural Mexico. A teacher named Georgina is determined to make a difference in the lives of the young, bright students she educates in a railcar classroom. This film also mentions corruption and how schools are affected by it.

El Guardian- This one is only in Spanish, and it talks about the corruption in Mexico and how one of the Monarcas biggest protector was killed because of Corruption!

The Long Game

In “The Long Game,” a talented young athlete navigates the pressures of sports and the expectations of success. As he pursues his dreams, he must confront personal and external challenges, ultimately learning valuable life lessons about perseverance, teamwork, and self-discovery.

Flamin’ Hot

“Flamin’ Hot” tells the story of Richard Montañez, a Frito-Lay janitor who claims to have invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. The film explores his rise from humble beginnings to corporate success, highlighting themes of innovation, determination, and the importance of cultural identity in the business world.

“Radical” is based on the true story of a dedicated teacher who inspires his students in a struggling community through innovative and engaging methods. He faces various challenges while trying to make a meaningful impact on their lives, emphasizing the importance of education and resilience.

C.h.u.e.c.o is a fun and entertaining show for students and families. It is available on Disney +. They have a special Christmas Edition that is perfect for the classroom! Make sure you check out the Series.

I like to always bring in traditional and authentic resources to my classroom and for that reason I always show El Chavo or El Chavo Animado. I chose one of my favorite episodes to share with you guys.
